As a field leader, the Supervisor is responsible for managing utility technicians, coordinating outsourced operational teams, ensuring compliance with environmental and safety regulations, and maintaining accurate system documentation. This position requires strong situational awareness, technical know-how, and the ability to lead operations under high-risk conditions.

This position requires strong situational awareness, technical know-how, and the ability to lead operations under high-risk conditions.
Core Responsibilities
The Main tasks of the Utilities Maintenance Supervisor (Gas/Chemical System Operation) should include but not limited to the following:
- Supervision and Team Management:
- Supervise gas and chemical supply operations including tanker hook-up, pressure/flow monitoring, and equipment status.
- Monitor FMCS systems to detect abnormal trends and report potential issues.
- Ensure proper system shutdown/start-up procedures are followed during maintenance or emergency events.
- Inventory & Quality Control:
- Oversee chemical/gas inventory control using FIFO and safety stock principles.
- Review COA (Certificate of Analysis) and expiration dates to ensure material compliance.
- Coordinate with vendors and internal stakeholders for reorders and delivery inspections.
- TeamSupervision & Shift Management:
- Lead technician shift schedules and ensure complete operational coverage.
- Conduct daily work briefings, provide task assignments, and follow up on completion and accuracy.
- Support training and certification of personnel in hazardous materials handling.
- Contractor Oversight
- Manage third-party operations personnel onsite and validate their compliance with Qcells standards.
- Review reports related to hazardous waste, PPE condition, emergency drills, and maintenance activities.
- Emergency Response & EHS Compliance
- Coordinate emergency response actions for gas leaks, chemical spills, or system alarms.
- Ensure all safety practices, PPE usage, and hazardous waste protocols are followed.
- Serve as primary responder for incident reporting and support EHS investigations.
- Reporting & Documentation
- Ensure accurate daily reporting on consumption, incidents, and maintenance status.
- Lead or participate in monthly operational reviews with Utility leadership.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- HighschooldiplomaorGEDrequired.
- Associate degree in Industrial Maintenance, Chemical Technology, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in utility operations or compressed air system management within a manufacturing environment.
- Prior supervisory or team lead experience is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with FMCS or SCADA monitoring systems and trend analysis.
- Understanding of hazardous chemical/gas handling, emergency protocols, and regulatory standards.
- Experience managing chemical/gas inventory, PPE control, and vendor coordination.
- HAZMAT or Hazardous Waste Operations certification.
- OSHA 10/30 or equivalent safety training.
- High attention to detail and safety.
- Calm and decisive under pressure.
- Strong communication and coordination skills with cross-functional teams.
