TITLE : Application Solution Architect
REPORTS TO : SVP, Chief Technology Officer
DEPARTMENT : Technology-Group Operations
GRADE : 8 Non-Exempt
LOCATION : Davenport IA and / or Remote
JOB SUMMARY :
As a Solution Architect (SA) at QCRH, working under the Chief Technology Officer, your main focus will be on aligning business technology with the company's goals and objectives. You will serve as a Application SA , designing integrated and adaptable solutions that enhance strategic business capabilities and applications. Your role will be essential in supporting the company's strategic direction and ensuring that the application architecture supports growth, adaptability, cost targets and an optimized end user experience.
As a SA, you will use design skills to support the selection, development, integration and implementation of technologies that meet business needs. You will collaborate with technology and business stakeholders to create application roadmaps that align with organizational objectives. You will also contribute to the creation of guidelines, standards, and solution designs that ensure the successful delivery of the organization's capabilities and technical direction.
To be successful in this role, you must be an innovative self-starter with excellent technology acumen and soft skills including listening, communication, and collaboration skills.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
Application Architect
Work with business leaders, IT Leaders, solution owners, developers, and technology providers to turn business needs into actionable solution architecture
Act as a consultant on a range of technologies, platforms, and vendor offerings to drive targeted business outcomes
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure integration and interoperability of applications and systems
Collaborate with key stakeholders to create and maintain Application focused roadmaps as part of the holistic technology strategic roadmaps
Develop and maintain architectural concepts, standards, solution designs and best practices
Partner with vendors to align third party product roadmaps with QCRH business objectives
Collaborate with third party vendors to establish seamless integrations of best-of-breed, multi-vendor solution set
Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends, leveraging new tools and methodologies to drive innovation and efficiency within the organization.
Act as a subject matter expert in enterprise systems, architecture, setting up technical teams for successful solution delivery
Leads innovative working sessions and quickly creates ad-hoc diagrams to visually communicate ideas and solutions effectively
Contribute to the preparation and administration of technology governance, technical and strategic planning, technical road mapping, and budget planning / management processes
Ensure effective, efficient integration and upgrades of all systems to ensure alignment of disparate platforms in a hybrid technology (on- and off-prem) systems environment
Monitors the current-state solution portfolio to identify deficiencies through aging of the technologies used by the application, or misalignment with business requirements.
Consults with applications, infrastructure, security and data teams to fit systems or infrastructure within an architecture
Leads solution sessions identifying key areas of risk and opportunities on projects
Research and evaluate generative AI technologies and platforms as it relates to the key QCRH applications portfolio to determine their suitability and effectiveness to meet company policies, standards and objectives
Participate in RFP and solutions selection processes
Participate in Enterprise Architecture Review Board
QUALIFICATIONS :
Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Software Engineering, Computer Science, related field or equivalent experience
5-7 years’ experience in software architecture and / or design
Significant experience creating roadmaps, technology recommendations and project architectures
Previous experience with technology approaches such as Cloud Native (preferably Azure and Google), DevOps, Containerization, REST API, Microservices, and service bus.
Previous experience in delivering integrations between externally hosted / cloud and on-premises applications
Proficient in Visio for the purpose of capturing both high-level concepts and detailed integrations
Hands-on experience with SDLC methodologies such as Agile, Lean, Waterfall, and DevOps
Experience delivering presentations to technical and non-technical audiences
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Effective interpersonal skills and collaborative leadership style to include teamwork and team building ability
Flexible in a fast-paced dynamic environment with shifting priorities
Proactive, driven by curiosity and innovation
Experience in the Financial Services Industry is helpful but not required
Must have the desire and ability to provide and receive sensitive and confidential information in a need-to-know manner that creates and maintains confidentiality.
Attend meetings as requested or needed to accomplish work assigned, deliver on expectations, demonstrate team accountability, fully engage in budget meetings, committee meetings, or community meetings with a high level of professional discernment.
SALARY & BENEFITS :
The following compensation and benefits information is provided pursuant to applicable pay transparency and compensation posting laws.
The anticipated starting salary for this position is $110,000 annually. The actual starting salary or hourly wage will be based on qualifications and business needs and may vary, as permitted by applicable state law.
This position is a regular full-time position, and individuals employed as regular full-time, are eligible for the following benefits subject to the terms, limitations and conditions of each benefit plan : Health, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Disability Insurance, FSA, HSA, 401K, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, Paid Time Off, Paid Holidays and additional Voluntary Supplemental Insurance.
