Job Summary
The Commercial Banker is responsible for maintaining and growing relationships with existing customers and acquiring new relationships. Acquires and services commercial business loans, commercial real estate loans and bank services in accordance with individually established business development goals. Achieve portfolio growth and goals. Oversees assigned loan portfolio to ensure proper risk management and compliance. Essential Functions
- Establish and maintain positive working relationships with employees and customers of CSB, local businesses, and organizations within the CSB markets served.
- Provide prompt, courteous, and excellent service to internal and external customers at all times.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive knowledge of the bank’s commercial products including credit products, cash management, trade service products and deposits to facilitate cross-selling and enhance the client experience.
- Expand existing relationships and actively acquire new business relationships by: initiating contact, identifying needs, matching the bank’s products with those needs, obtaining client commitment, and closing the transaction.
- Receive and evaluate loan applications, conduct onsite inspections, approve loans within specified limits. Direct the closing of approved commercial loan agreements, communicate loan decisions, including rationale, to the customer.
- Work with Credit Administration to properly structure loans. Assist in internal loan review of credits as directed. Provide assistance with difficult internal or external problems or inquiries. Works with the CCO in developing and maintaining our commercial underwriting process, associated forms/templates and credit presentation format.
- Participation in community involvement is encouraged. This involvement can include professional, civic and community groups.
- Responsible for compliance with applicable State and Federal regulations during processing and closing of loan file, including accurate completion of HMDA information.
- Comply with all company or regulatory policies, procedures and requirements that are applicable to this position.

- Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, or other related area preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a banking environment with an emphasis in business lending, credit/business development or a combination of equivalent education and experience required.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal written and presentation skills.
- Capability to work and collaborate with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and professional manner.
- Advanced financial analysis and credit underwriting skills. Demonstrated skills in commercial credit underwriting, business development and portfolio management.
- Strong working knowledge of regulations, compliance standards, market trends and products relating to the banking industry.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with capability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Capability to manage sensitive information and uphold confidentiality.
- Self-motivated and self-directed.
- Duties are performed in a professional office environment.
- Ability to travel to onsite inspection locations, Bank or workshop locations.
