Essential duties and responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Lead the full project lifecycle of a greenfield drug substance manufacturing expansion, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery.
- Oversee engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) phases, driving execution excellence across design, construction, commissioning, and qualification (CQV).
- Act as the primary interface between our client and key stakeholders, including engineering firms, general contractors, vendors, and internal leadership teams.
- Manage project risk, compliance, and regulatory requirements in accordance with GMP, FDA, and global health authority standards.
- Ensure seamless transition from construction to operations, facilitating training, documentation, and handover to manufacturing teams.
- Develop and maintain cost forecasts, schedules, and progress reports, ensuring clear communication with executive leadership.
- Drive a safety-first culture, ensuring all construction activities adhere to site and industry EHS standards.
- Extensive project management experience in large-scale pharmaceutical or biotech construction projects.
- Strong background in greenfield or brownfield new builds within drug substance (biologics) manufacturing.
- Demonstrated experience leading projects >$200M, with preference for candidates with $500M project experience.
- End-to-end expertise in design, construction, commissioning, and operational handover.
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills, capable of engaging executive leadership, site teams, and external partners.
- Polished, professional, and highly trusted to drive project success with minimal oversight.
- Experience working with EPC firms, CQV teams, and global regulatory compliance requirements.
- PMP, PgMP, or equivalent project management certification.
- Experience managing multi-train drug substance manufacturing facilities.
- Knowledge of LEAN construction principles and digital project management tools.
