Remote Lead Mathematician

One of the top performing independent studios in the US market is hiring it's Head of Math to work remote from anywhere in the US. This company has strong US leadership and game design teams with offshore production delivering number one games.

As Head of Math, you will play a key role in developing the most innovative games on the market, shaping their mechanics, and being involved in the entire creative process from concept to launch.

The Game Mathematician is responsible for new online slot game design and validation. The successful mathematician excels in a collaborative small team environment with a group of talented artists, audio designers, software engineers, and quality engineers to provide the best gaming experience for our operators and their players.

Responsibilities:

• Design game math profiles, optimizing RTP, hit rate, and volatility.
• Analyze probability distributions, payout structures, and game balance.
• Create data-driven math models to enhance player engagement and profitability.
• Oversee game implementation, collaborating with developers for accurate math integration.
• Develop and verify mathematical algorithms supporting game features.
• Optimize key game KPIs (session length, bet cycles, feature frequency) in line with market trends.
• Research and benchmark competitor math models, identifying new mechanics and monetization strategies.
• Ensure regulatory compliance across multiple jurisdictions.

Minimum Requirements:

• 5 years in the Class III land-based slot market, with expertise in reel mechanics, pay tables, and player engagement.
• Strong background in slot game mathematics, including RTP modeling, volatility, and game balancing.
• Proficiency in Python/C or other programming languages for mathematical modeling.
• Ability to analyze game performance data and optimize game math for engagement and profitability.
• Deep understanding of gaming trends, player behavior, and regulatory compliance.
• Familiarity with market preferences to design competitive and innovative slot mechanics.
• Passion for developing unique and engaging slot game experiences.
• Ability to collaborate with designers and developers throughout the entire game development process.
