POSITION SUMMARY AND PURPOSE

Q2 Impact is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Research Director to lead the research and analysis activities for a USAID-funded Analytical Services V (ASV) contract within the Bureau for Democracy, Human Rights, and Governance (DRG Bureau). The Research Director will be responsible for the overall quality and rigor of research products and will play a critical role in ensuring the successful and timely delivery of high-quality research and analysis deliverables. This position is contingent upon award.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Research Design and Oversight :

Lead the development and implementation of research methodologies and analytical frameworks.

Oversee all aspects of data collection, analysis, and interpretation. Ensure the quality and rigor of all research products, including reports, briefs, and presentations.

Task Management : Manage the development and implementation of all research tasks, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget. Monitor project progress, identify potential risks and challenges, and develop mitigation strategies.

Team Leadership : Mentor local researchers and provide technical guidance to research teams. Collaborate with research partners, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.

Technical Assistance : Provide technical assistance to USAID and other stakeholders on research and analysis issues. Contribute to the development of research utilization strategies.

Communication and Dissemination : Prepare and present research findings to a variety of audiences, including USAID, government officials, and the broader development community. Develop and disseminate research products through appropriate channels.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education : Graduate degree (PhD or MA) in a relevant field such as political science, international relations, sociology, or economics.

Experience : At least 10 years of professional experience in DRG research, learning, and analysis. Demonstrated experience applying different research frameworks / methodologies and best practices in research utilization and dissemination. Proven experience managing and mentoring research teams.

Skills : Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and oral communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in statistical software and data analysis techniques. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
