Position Overview
Far Ridgline Engagements, a QinetiQ US company, is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer (Telecommunications) to join our team supporting a Government Client in Reston, VA.
Responsibilities
- Design and install equipment used for transmitting wired phone, cellular, cable, and broadband data. Work with copper or fiberoptic cabling, complex networks, and switching systems
- Examine new network technologies and offer suggestions regarding integration
- Ensure network availability and provide necessary maintenance and support
- Plan, schedule, and play an active role in the equipment installations
- Design and conduct network test and evaluation activities
- Provide subject matter expertise for network interoperability and integration
- Perform system-level design and configuration of products
- Configure networks to ensure smooth transmission of data that fulfills customer objectives
- Oversee new and existing telecom hardware and software upgrades
- Evaluate and resolve technical issues related to computer, server, network, and voice
- Bachelor’s degree in telecommunications, electrical, or electronics engineering
- 5 years of experience in design, installation, and troubleshooting telecommunications systems and related software
- Experience working with complex network and switching systems
- Experience designing and implementing LAN, WAN, Wireless LAN, and WWAN
- Analytical, creative, and methodical problem solver with good concentration and excellent math skills
- In-depth understanding of existing and emerging technologies
- Experience developing supporting documentation, such as routing plans, network maps, and disaster recovery
- Cisco Certified Network Associate, Professional (CCNA, CCNP)
- Technical understanding of network hardware, internet standards, and protocols
- Successful Completion of Pre-Employment Background Investigation required
- Current TS/SCI Clearance with CI poly, or ability to obtain poly prior to start date #qinetiqclearedjob
- Current (in scope) counterintelligence polygraph
