Position Overview
Far Ridgeline Engagements (a QinetiQ US company) is seeking a senior-level Electrical Engineer with extensive experience in electro-mechanical design to join our team supporting a US Government client in Reston, VA.This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, results-driven, multi-functional team of engineers and data scientists laser focused on delivering advanced technical solutions.
Responsibilities
- Architect electro-mechanical design concepts in support of customer requirements
- Develop software and hardware devices and create detailed specifications
- Participate in product design reviews as both a technical assessor and presenter
- Electronics design from schematic capture and PCB layout, to test planning and implementation
- Test and troubleshoot prototypes and provide customer technical support
- Lead the development activities, including requirements gathering, concept development, hardware design, component selection, schematic design, circuit board layout, prototyping, and product integration testing
- Develop system designs to optimize product size, weight, power, and cost
- Support and maintain existing products
- Collaborate and implement designs with other project team members
- Work closely with software engineers, product managers, and vendors to ensure successful project coordination and integration
- Validate design by simulations and tests at a prototype level
- Translate user and customer needs into documented technical requirements and specifications
- Conduct technology feasibility studies as needed
- Design and document test fixtures and test processes
- Liaise with multidisciplinary team members, customers, and suppliers
