Business Intelligence Analyst
Job Summary:
QISG is expanding its Data Analytics Team and seeking multiple Business Intelligence Analysts to support various business functions, including Finance, Project Management, Quality, and Supply Chain. As a BI Analyst, you’ll report to the Senior Manager of Data Analytics while also being a virtual team member of your assigned business function(s). You will dive deep into your business function(s), understand data analytics and business intelligence needs, and translate them into actionable solutions. Your work will drive efficiency and effectiveness across the organization, delighting internal customers.Roles & Responsibilities:
Data Analytics Leadership:
- Lead data analytics and business intelligence efforts for your assigned business functions.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements and prioritize BI initiatives.
Roadmap Development:
- Create a comprehensive roadmap for data analytics work within your area.
- Identify key milestones and deliverables.
Project Management:
- Manage the delivery of the BI roadmap to internal customers.
- Utilize a monthly “release planning” methodology to ensure timely execution.
Data Schema Creation:
- Work closely with the database developer to onboard relevant data sources into Incorta, our data lakehouse solution.
- Refine and join datasets to create function-specific business schemas.
Dashboard Development:
- Build interactive dashboards using Power BI and/or Incorta.
- Empower stakeholders with actionable visualizations.
Ad Hoc Analyses:
- Perform ad hoc business analyses as needed to address specific challenges or opportunities.
Qualifications & Skills:
Education:
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, preferably in Computer Science or Information Systems Technology, provides a strong foundation for this role.
Experience:
- 3 years of experience in building high-quality, executive-polished dashboards and reporting content is essential. Demonstrating a track record of creating visually appealing and insightful dashboards is crucial.
Technical Skills:
- Power BI: Expertise with Power BI is a must. Familiarity with Incorta is a bonus, as it expands your toolkit for data visualization and analysis.
- DAX, Power Query, and SQL: Proficiency in creating complex metrics and calculations using these tools is vital.
- Data Integration: BI developers should have experience using a diversity of data sources and the ability to properly join them to create comprehensive data sets.
Domain Knowledge:
- Ideally, candidates should have data analytics experience in one or more of these areas: Finance, Project Management, Quality, and Supply Chain. Understanding the specific business context enhances the effectiveness of BI solutions.
Source Systems:
- It’s advantageous to have worked with one or more of these source systems: JD Edwards, EcoSys, Procore, and Oracle Primavera P6.
Additional Tools and Platforms:
- Familiarity with the following Microsoft tools will be beneficial: Forms, Lists, SharePoint, and Power Automate. This will allow us to semi-automate various non-systemic data sources.
