Job Title : Subcontract Manager
General Description
The Subcontract Manager is responsible for vetting potential subcontractors, preparing detailed Requests for Quotation (RFQs), and collaborating with various stakeholders to gather necessary information. The Subcontract Manager analyzes project requirements, manages quote timelines, evaluates subcontractor bids, and maintains a database of subcontractor performance. The Subcontract Manager will also provide support during contract negotiations.
Duties
Vet potential subcontractors to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and financial standards.
Lead and prepare detailed RFQs for subcontracted work.
Collaborate with Estimators, Project Managers, Engineers, and other stakeholders.
Develop comprehensive RFQs based on project requirements and specifications.
Deliver RFQs to targeted subcontractors and manage quote timelines.
Analyze and respond to subcontractor RFIs.
Evaluate subcontractor bids to ensure alignment with project schedules, budgets, and commercial terms.
Prepare quote comparisons for internal review and selection.
Maintain and update a database of subcontractor pricing and performance.
Support contract negotiations and project execution.
Required Education
Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, or a related field required.
Preferred Experience
Over five years of experience in engineering and construction subcontract management; power delivery experience is a plus.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
Proficiency in estimation software and Microsoft Office Suite; knowledge of ProCore is a plus.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
