Responsibilities
- Provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities, ensuring their needs are met.
- Assist clients with personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management.
- Engage clients in social and recreational activities to promote community involvement.
- Observe and document client behavior and progress, reporting any significant changes to the appropriate personnel.
- Implement individualized care plans tailored to each client's unique needs.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, adhering to health and safety standards.
- Support clients with mobility challenges through heavy lifting or physical assistance as needed.
- Foster positive relationships with clients, encouraging their independence and self-esteem.
Requirements
- Experience in patient care or social work is preferred.
- MUST HAVE A DSP 1 CERTIFICATION
- MUST HAVE A CPI CERTIFICATION
- Knowledge of dementia care and working with individuals on the autism spectrum is a plus.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when assisting clients with mobility needs.
- Certification in CPR is highly desirable.
- Strong observational skills to monitor client behavior effectively.
- Compassionate attitude towards working with people with disabilities and developmental disabilities.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with clients, families, and team members.
