Job Summary:
The Maintenance Tech (B) primary responsibility is to repair and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment such as AC/DC drives and servomotors, welding equipment, pneumatic components, hydraulic components, conveyor systems, production machines and equipment.
Observes all production, finishing and support equipment to determine root cause of malfunction, performs necessary maintenance to the equipment and machinery to repair or replace the defective parts. Perform Preventative Maintenance as instructed on all equipment/machinery/facility.
Responsibilities:

Responsibilities:
- Observe all MIOSHA and ISO 9001/14001 requirements.
- Ability to assist in preventative maintenance procedures of both mechanical and hydraulic presses; Ex, Parallelism, jack test, set gibs, clutch and brake inspections.
- Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic, hydraulics, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
- Clean, lubricate, and adjust parts, equipment, and machinery.
- Examine parts for defects such as breakage and excessive wear.
- Perform plumbing and pipe fitting.
- Perform ordinary welding and brazing as related to maintenance requirements
- Maintain specified records of work performed, details of repairs and material usage
- Maintain equipment and working area in neat and orderly condition
- Observe all MIOSHA and ISO 9001/14001 requirements.
- Maintain, adjust or repair air compressor and controls.
- Detect faulty operation, diagnose malfunctions and provide remedy or report to proper Supervisor
- Periodically inspect condition of plant operating machines and equipment for preventative maintenance purposes
- Hydraulic – Knowledge of safe operation; Rebuild valves and cylinders; Monitor and adjust where required.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals, blueprints, schematics and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Ability to follow all maintenance safety practices including Lock Out/Tag Out Procedures and Risk Analysis prior to starting the maintenance tasks and adhere to all “Best Practices" in the Industrial Safety Programs implemented by the company.
- Enter data and work order information into software system for tracking and traceability purposes on all relevant tasks performed.
- Ability to communicate accurately, concisely, professionally, and effectively with the team and management as to important repair steps taken, parts ordered, and estimated time of completion.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned or needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong proficiency in plant maintenance is required.
- Ability to effectively record and accurately verbalize maintenance problems, solutions, and corrective actions.
- Ability to generate and maintain preventative maintenance policies and procedures.

The majority of the time is spent on the shop/plant floor. It will frequently be necessary to spend time on the manufacturing floor in a shop environment where the incumbent may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and/or equipment, loud noises, machining noise, warm temperatures, airborne particles, possible electrical shock, chemicals and fumes.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee sits, stands, and uses hands, arms and fingers to perform routine tasks. Normal vision and hearing is required.
Additional physical requirements:
- Must be able to lift 40lbs.
- Ability to move throughout the plant, and stand while on the clock.
