The Press Room & Tooling Supervisor assists in supervising and guaranteeing activities are performed safely and properly in regards to repair and troubleshooting of dies.

Job Summary:
The Press Room & Tooling Supervisor assists the Tool Room Manager in the continued success of the Tool Room at Quality Metalcraft. The Press Room & Tooling Supervisor assists in supervising and guaranteeing activities are performed safely and properly in regards to repair and troubleshooting of dies.
Responsibilities:
- Assists with coordinating activities of staff involved in developing procedures, equipment, and techniques to solve tool-related problems.
- Assists in coordinating plant resources as required to resolve the safety, quality and throughput or cost issues related to tooling
- Generates and implements cost savings ideas to reduce tool cost/pc and/or reduce overall manufacturing cost.
- Participates in engineering design reviews and analysis to assure the manufacturability of the product.
- Identify product design improvements early in the design phase to facilitate manufactural products with the desired speed to market for manufacturing.
- Interface with production managers during the development phase to validate all steps of the manufacturing process.
- Participates in documenting tool trials using tooling run-off forms & checklists.
- Update CAD department with any revised/update tool drawings and documentation as required.
- Participates in reviewing of new tooling releases to ensure conformance to documented tooling standards.
- Attend regularly scheduled operations and team problem-solving meetings
- Support manufacturing in the resolution of tooling related issues such as high manufacturing costs, scrap rates and low production rates due to tooling related issues.
- Support cross-functional teams to achieve overall plant metrics
- Train and mentor Tool Room team members and assist in evaluating performance
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- 5 years work experience in related field
- Tool repair and adjustments
- Press troubleshooting
- Advance TIG Welding
- Knowledge of basic computer hardware and applications software.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Must be a highly motivated, service and team-oriented individual with an attention to detail
