Job Summary:
The Maintenance Hilo Repair Technician is responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing powered industrial trucks.
Responsibilities:
Observe all MIOSHA and ISO 9001/14001 requirements.
Adhering to all safety rules and regulations when working on or around the hilo.
Identifying the source of hilo issues and/or problems by inspecting components, using diagnostic tools, and analyzing error codes.
Replacing worn or damaged parts such as tires, brakes, hydraulic hoses, electrical components, and engine parts.
Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance to prevent future issues.
Identifying and fixing electrical problems within the hilo system.
Works with Technical or Maintenance Manager to order necessary replacement parts and maintain inventory of available parts.
Keep detailed records of repairs, maintenance performed, and parts used.
Other job duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
Coursework or degree in heavy equipment repair preferred
5+ years’ experience required
Strong understanding of mechanical principles and mechanical operations of hilos
Basic knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting electrical issues
Ability to analyze problems, identify root causes, and find solutions
Valid driver’s license and ability to operate different hilos safely
Have or be able to acquire the tools needed for repairs/PMs on hilos
Work Environment
The majority of the time is spent on the shop floor. It will frequently be necessary to spend time on the manufacturing floor in a shop environment where the incumbent may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and/or equipment, loud noises, machining noise, warm temperatures, airborne particles, possible electrical shock, chemicals and fumes.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee sits, stands, and uses hands, arms and fingers to perform routine tasks. Normal vision and hearing is required.
