We are QMed – a leader in medical supply distribution with business relationships across the globe! We seek a dedicated and experienced Manager to oversee our Inventory Control Department within our warehouse operations. The successful candidate will be required to have strong leadership skills in managing warehouse workers, by ensuring their accuracy, productivity and efficiency in their role.
The Inventory Control Manager will play a pivotal role in implementing and enforcing inventory controls, developing policies, and collaborating with various departments to streamline operations. They will be responsible for identifying and minimizing financial impacts associated with missing, damaged, excess, and obsolete inventory while providing regular key performance indicator (KPI) information to all levels of management.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND TASKS:
· Develop, implement, and maintain new and/or established inventory control processes, procedures, and work methods in accordance with industry standards, department and company objectives, and internal policies and requirements.
· Manage and coordinate regular cycle counts and cycle counters.
· Maintain timely communication and coordinating with the appropriate person(s) and/or department(s) to continuously improve inventory accuracy.
· Maintain awareness of current activities and issues.
· Manage, prepare, and conduct annual physical inventories.
· Compile KPI’s on operational performance and warehouse productivity.
· Work to improve operational performance by managing the slotting of housed product.
- Determine root cause of inventory discrepancies by reviewing transactions and implementing remediation.
- Investigate errors and work with related departments to streamline processes.
- Be the liaison between Operations, Sales, Accounting, and Customer Service to resolve inventory issues by implementing controls and take corrective action when needed.
- Investigate and help resolve inventory discrepancies and create the action plan to ensure that inventory matches available stock.
- Significant process review of frequent issues and process mapping remediation.
· Maintaining quality assurance records.
· Coordinates with Human Resources in all aspects of employee relations including but not limited to: employee interviewing, hiring, coaching, counseling, progressive disciplinary action, complaints, scheduling, training and development.
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS and EDUCATION:
· Management: Knowledge of principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, best practices, and coordination of people and resources.
· Safety and Security: Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, regulations, and strategies to promote a safe environment.
· Communication: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and standard operational procedures. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers, vendors, executive team, or employees of organization.
· Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
· Process Improvement: Ability to question preconceived notions, which can help identify issues or areas for improvement.
· Data Analytics: Use data and information analysis to perform root-cause analysis on related quality issues and increase accuracy and efficiency in the operation. Conduct timely research, on discrepancies and breakdown in processes, through the supply chain cycle. Work with cross functional teams to design solutions to identified issues.
· General Experience: Minimum 5 years’ experience in inventory control environment and/or supply chain management.
- Computer Skills: Utilize Microsoft Excel, Access, PowerPoint to analyze data and create reporting as required by the business.
- Education: BS/BA Degree in Business, Economics or Supply Chain Management preferred (experience may substitute for education for the right candidate).
