Home Health Aide (HHA) β Weekend Shift
π Location: Washington, DC
π Status: Part-time, Weekends Only (Non-Exempt)
π₯ Reports to: Home Care Coordinator (RN)
About The Role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Home Health Aide (HHA) to provide essential weekend care and support to elderly participants in a PACE (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly) program. This role involves assisting participants with daily living activities, monitoring their well-being, and fostering a safe, supportive environment. The HHA will work closely with an interdisciplinary care team and serve participants either in their homes or within our center.
Key Responsibilities
β Assist participants with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, hair and mouth care, eating, nail care, and toileting.
β Follow the facility/home care schedule for weekend assignments.
β Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to support participant care planning.
β Provide escorting services for participants within the community as needed.
β Participate in Quality Improvement (QI) programs to enhance care standards.
β Adhere to infection control protocols and safety regulations.
β Maintain accurate documentation of services provided and participant progress.
β Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required.
β Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications & Requirements
π Experience:
βοΈ Minimum one (1) year of experience working with a frail or elderly population (preferred).
βοΈ Experience in long-term care or a community-based geriatric program (preferred).
π Skills & Abilities
βοΈ Knowledge of the needs and challenges of elderly individuals.
βοΈ Ability to communicate effectively with participants, families, and healthcare professionals.
βοΈ Demonstrates patience, empathy, and a caring approach in providing care.
βοΈ Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and adapt to participant needs.
βοΈ Strong organizational and time-management skills.
βοΈ Ability to work collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary team.
π Education & Certification
βοΈ High school diploma or GED required.
βοΈ Active Home Health Aide (HHA) certification in Washington, DC required.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
πΉ Requires frequent standing, walking, lifting (up to 50 lbs.), and assisting with mobility.
πΉ Exposure to varied indoor temperatures, potential hazards, and communicable diseases.
πΉ Must be able to work weekend shifts as scheduled.
