Position Title: Maintenance Mechanic
Wage: $30.00 /hour
Shift: 2nd
Hours: 3:00pm - 1:30am (Monday - Thursday)
QPS has partnered with a great company in Cedar Rapids to hire a Maintenance Technician to join their team. This is a direct hire opportunity with a great benefits package included! The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the reliable operation of mechanical systems by maintaining and repairing equipment such as pumps, motors, conveyors, and production machines. Maintenance Mechanic Responsibilities:
- Monitor equipment while in operation and use testing instruments to identify issues
- Dismantle and inspect equipment parts for wear or damage and repair or replace defective parts
- Measure parts using tools like micrometers, calipers, and rules to ensure proper fit
- Adjust, lubricate and clean machine parts
- Operate metalworking tools like drill presses and grinders for repairs
- Perform light welding as needed
- Test machinery after repairs to ensure proper performance
- Order parts and equipment when necessary
- Perform basic electrical and instrumentation work as required
- Follow manufacturer maintenance recommendations and safety procedures
- Maintain effective communication with other team members regarding repairs and part requests
Requirements for Maintenance Mechanic:
- High School Diploma or GED
- At least five years of relevant experience or equivalent education/training
- Knowledge of mechanical and electrical terminology
- Experience with industrial machinery, pneumatics, and automation equipment
- First Class Steam license preferred
- Light welding experience and basic electrical knowledge
- Experience in food processing is a plus
- Able to stand, walk and lift up to 50lbs
- Able to work occasional overtime
