This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who may have little to no experience but possess a strong willingness to learn and grow within a dynamic environment. No prior extensive experience is necessary—just a positive attitude, a desire to develop new skills, and the ability to pass a Medical Evaluation and respirator fit test.
What You’ll Do:
As a Powder Coating Apprentice, your role will be instrumental in supporting our production and finishing processes. You will work closely with experienced team members to learn the ins and outs of powder coating and basic assembly tasks. Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with Surface Preparation: Learn how to clean and prepare surfaces using manual methods, chemical solvents, steam, or media blasting to ensure proper coating adhesion.
- Supporting Powder Coating Processes: Help operate and maintain powder coating equipment under supervision, ensuring proper application and coverage.
- Color Matching & Application: Assist in mixing powder coating colors according to specifications and applying coatings using electrostatic spray guns or other equipment.
- Quality Inspection: Support visual inspections and basic testing to identify coating defects or inconsistencies, ensuring all finished products meet quality standards.
- Assembly & Packaging: Learn to assemble lighting products and other items using hand and power tools. Assist with packaging finished products securely for shipping, including labeling and wrapping.
- General Site Maintenance: Help keep the work area clean, organized, and safe, adhering to all safety protocols and OSHA requirements.

Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, with a 30-minute lunch break
Pay Range: $19.00/hour - $23.00/hour, depending on experience; paid bi-weekly.

Requirements:- Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship; participation in E-Verify is required.
- A high school diploma or GED, though a post-secondary trade/technical training is preferred.
- Prior powder coating experience or experience in metal finishing or a related assembly and production setting is preferred.
- Ability to pass an occupational medical evaluation and respirator fit testing as per OSHA requirements.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision.
- Physical strength and stamina to stand, walk, and lift for extended periods, including the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Physical Demands:
- Frequent standing, walking, and lifting; ability to use hands for gripping and manipulating tools and materials.
- Vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and color differentiation.
- Exposure to various environmental conditions, including fumes, airborne particles, and moderate noise levels typical of a production facility.
Work Environment:
- The job may involve working in wet or humid conditions, near moving mechanical parts, and under varying temperatures.
- Safety precautions are enforced, and hearing protection may be required in specific areas.
