QTEC Aerospace is seeking a COMPLIANCE/PATCHING SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR to join our team of professionals in Colorado Springs, CO. The successful candidate will become part of a team of professionals representing both industry and government in support of a Missile Defense System (MDS) with a mission of protecting the United States and our allies. The successful candidate will be detail oriented, have a proven track record and a positive work ethic.
Job Summary
QTEC Aerospace is looking for highly capable and motivated individuals. The successful candidate will function as an integral member of a multi-contractor team providing program, engineering, and technical support to Missile Defense programs. The chosen candidate will be part of a team that will be supporting the system by interacting continuously with the cyber team compliance team to remediate any vulnerabilities founding during automated or manual cyber scans.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to the following:
- Act as the primary group to for testing and applying patches on all main software/application systems on the system including workstation and servers
- Review systems asset compliance to coordinate a testing strategy for patching found vulnerabilities
- Administer patching solutions, such as Tanium, WSUS, and YUM
- Identify and work with components owners to build subset groups for patching testing, prior to wide deployment of enterprise patching
- Coordinate with system owners for patching specific products/solutions, such as server applications, user workstations, etc.
- Perform continuous vulnerability patching schedules based on cyber tool scan scoring, based on authorized schedule authorized by appropriate board
- Notify user base of upcoming patches and any projected impacts from this patching activity, such as reboots and/or new features being introduced
Minimum Education and Experience
- Bachelors degree with at least 5 years of experience or equivalent or an advanced degree with at least 3 years of experience
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Experience with patching in an enterprise level system
- Experience with writing standard operating procedures (SOP) documentation
- Ability to build documentation to outline a full testing strategy for regression of functionality after patching workstation/servers
- As patching can be an impacting activity, a detailed oriented individual is a must for this position
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, and prepare and brief presentations to the customer as needed
- Self-starter with ability to work both independently and in a team environment
Desired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Experience with patching solutions such as WSUS, YUM, and Tanium
- Testing patches using a systematic process to limit impact to user base
Security Clearance
Candidates must currently have DoD TOP SECRET level security clearance with the eligibility for SCI and SAP.
Salary Range
The below salary range represents a general guideline; however, QTEC considers a number of factors when determining base salary such as the scope and responsibilities of the position as well as the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
Salary Range: $82,000 - $161,000
