The Director, Financial Operations provides leadership and direction to a team of finance professionals and managers with primary responsibilities for key financial operations, including Accounts Receivable, Customer Billing and Cash Application. The candidate will play a critical role in leading and managing the day-to-day operations of our accounts receivable and billing teams. The Director will ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance in all billing and receivables processes, directly contributing to the financial health and operational excellence of the company. The candidate will be able to demonstrate proven success in driving operational efficiency in transactional based environment. Serves as key organizational partner across multiple functional areas.
RESPONSIBILITIES - Other duties may be assigned
- Lead the day-to-day accounts receivables operations, including credit, invoicing, collections, and cash applications, to ensure timely and accurate billing to customers. This includes processing complex orders, addressing customer contract add-ons, amendments, and extensions in accordance with customer agreements and terms.
- Establish role as key organizational partner with customers and internal stakeholders to facilitate efficient financial transactions, adhere to financial policies and comply with regulations.
- Collaborate with Sales, Sales Operations, Legal, and Account Management teams to ensure timely and accurate billing, and successful dispute resolution.
- Responsible for maintaining a high-performing team including mentoring and training staff members and identifying cross-training opportunities.
- Implement key reports and dashboards to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), billing accuracy, and operational efficiency.
- Develop strategies for optimizing the credit and collections process.
- Conduct data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights that drive business decisions.
- Ability to expand role and influence key stakeholders to achieve organizational goals.
- Lead and nurture a work culture with a positive attitude that promotes open, frequent and dynamic communication among staff, stimulating teamwork to accomplish desired goals and objectives.
- Provide support for periodic financial audits across multiple key financial areas.
- Design and implement internal controls around key accounting processes.
- Ensures compliance with internal control policies in a SOX environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in accounts receivable, accounts payable, or general accounting, with at least 7 years in a leadership role.
- Proven experience as a leader of billing, receivables and cash application operations.
- Demonstrate agility with competing projects and priorities.
