Who You Are :
You possess expert level experience drafting & negotiating electrical service agreements, power purchase agreements, and other matters related to large scale power & construction projects. You are passionate about solving the energy crisis and enjoy working collaboratively with business stakeholders to drive initiatives forward, aligned with QTS strategy.
The Impact You Will Have :
As Associate General Counsel, Director (Power) , you lead the way in supporting the company’s legal operations in a variety of matters, with a focus that includes energy procurement and utilities, construction and project development.
What You Will Do :
RESPONSIBILITIES, other duties may be assigned
- Oversee legal aspects of the company’s construction and procurement contracting terms and process; work with the company’s Development team in negotiating and managing construction contracts.
- Oversee legal aspects of the company’s energy / utilities procurement program (including renewables); work with the company’s Development team to secure power and utilities to the company’s projects.
- Review, negotiate, draft and / or work with outside counsel in drafting utility, access and other easements and real estate documents necessary for power and electrical services needed for development of a site.
- Advise on regulatory matters regarding energy and utilities.
- Advise on regulatory, health and environmental matters regarding development projects.
- Negotiate and work with the company’s contractors and utility providers.
- Negotiate and structure project-related documents, including vendor / supply agreements, O&M agreements, offtake agreements and other similar agreements.
- Support project financing transactions.
- Assisting with a variety of other legal matters such as regulatory matters, permitting, environmental, due diligence and real estate, as well as various other transactional matters and agreements as needed.
- Working with and managing outside counsel, partners, customers, counterparties and other third parties, as needed.
- Performing a broad range of legal matters and general business matters based on the needs of the company, as may be assigned by the General Counsel.
