Horticulture/Landscape Technician

Our horticulture team is expanding, and seeking a qualified individual to join us on our mission of bringing people and plants together in fun and meaningful ways. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter that is able to work both independently and with a team. They will posses a critical eye for details and prioritize their workload with the ability to adjust goals as demands of the job change. This is a hands-on role with 40 hours per week.

Duties & Responsibilities:

- Maintain assigned areas to the highest level of horticultural excellence, including our specialized water feature within our Children's Garden.

- All garden duties include planting, weeding, pruning, mulching, turf management, maintaining sidewalks during winter and litter pickup.

- Supervising of volunteers as staff team leader on certain projects.

- Watering as needed

- Using outdoor power equipment safely and around members of the public.

- Support installation and take-down of Winter Nights, Winter Lights holiday light display. - Assist in other seasonal offerings, including our annual plant sale. Requirements:

-Ability to lift 75 pounds.

-Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions, including heat and rain.

- Walking, standing, digging or stooping for extended periods of time.

- Knowledge of general landscape & gardening principles.

- Safe operation of power equipment and tools.

Education & Experience:

- Experience working in the landscape/garden industry, operating machinery consistent with the job

- Accurate plant identification knowledge

- Experience in all aspects of landscaping, including hardscapes and irrigation preferred.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $14.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 – 32 per week
