Shop Painter, Industrial Paint Department

Salary Range: $18 to $22/hr depends on experience

Location: Onsite

Position: Temp to Hire

Keith Company engineers and manufactures state of the art industrial furnaces, kilns and ovens that are sold to domestic and international customers. We are currently seeking a Shop Painter to join our team.

Report to Manufacture Planner and Factory Manager. To do this job well, he/she needs to be able to safely operate spray paint gun. Furthermore, this person may be called upon to perform other general shop duties, including properly filling out forms.

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Knows different types of paint and how to thin them.

· Review and prepare work order parts for painting.

· Sand, mask, and prime surfaces to ensure smooth, even base for painting.

· Mix and apply paint, primer, and clear coat using spray guns and other tools.

· Ensure precise color matching and flawless finishes.

· Maintains and cleans equipment after usage.

· Follow safety work area and paperwork for AQMD requirement.

· Assist with other tasks in the manufacturing factory. We will provide training.

· Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Abilities:

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

· Will reliably show up for work as scheduled and be punctual.

· Know how to clean guns, change paint filters and dispose of all material properly.

· Ability to work independently and work in a fast-paced environment.

Education and Experience:

· 2-3 years of experience painting industrial machinery or automobiles.

· Clean and prep metal for painting, including rusty metal using tools like grinder.

· Manufacture job experiences are helpful.

Physical Requirements:

· Ability to regularly walk, sit, balance, stoop, kneel, and smell.

· Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at times.

· Must be able to access all areas of the facility to determine needs
