Logistics Solutions Associate

The Logistics Solutions Associate is responsible for coordinating vendor logistics strategies to achieve objectives and outcomes. The role involves independent analysis of vendor and company delivery strategies, leveraging company solutions and working with vendors and internal departments to create a strong logistics partnership. Additionally, the Logistics Solutions Associate manages efficient and cost-effective start to finish dispatch of core contracted carriers to meet customer and driver needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage the shipping and delivery process for inbound vendor product by collaborating with internal resources to facilitate process.
• Use independent discretion to identify and resolve discrepancies in shipping and/or transportation scheduling parameters, inventory, and/or delivery issues for both outbound and inbound shipments.
• Manage the Vendor’s delivery objectives by solving problems pertaining to the Vendor’s product, gathering and transmitting information and ensuring product meets delivery requirements and standards.
• Uses independent discretion to initiate and facilitate load planning adjustments to ensure on time pickup and delivery for both outbound and inbound shipments.
• Facilitate and monitor freight bill audit efforts to ensure invoices are paid promptly and kept up to date.
• Engage in maintaining a positive customer relationship by providing progressive logistics experience.
• Determine appropriate mode of transportation for each load based on production, customer requirements and cost.
• Continually monitor load requests noting location for pick-up, delivery locations, pick-up dates and required delivery dates.
• Identify, evaluate and facilitate special deliver needs.
• Ensure consistent application and compliance of DOT regulations including maintaining driver’s hours.
• Facilitate the customer’s delivery objectives in a timely and effective manner through constant and direct communication with the drivers, load planners and other depts. across the platform.
• Manages multiple assignments simultaneously.
• Drive company strategies through all deliverables by constantly reviewing processes and making recommendations for operational improvements.
• Must be able to work extended hours, holidays and weekends, as needed. Requires weekend coverage once per quarter (prescheduled).
  
  

Education And Experience

Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in related field, preferred. At least one year of working in Transportation and or Logistics environment, focusing on Customer Service.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Proficient in Excel or PC based database platform required
• Solid knowledge of current logistics principles, techniques and regulations.
• Ability to work independently, multi-task and balance a number of Vendor accounts
• Strong organization skills
• Must be self-motivated, flexible, organized and able to multi-task in an ever-changing environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Must be able to work extended hours, holidays and weekends as needed
