Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Heidelberg Second Press Operator to join our Burlington, Wisconsin plant team. This role involves setting up and operating press equipment according to customer specifications, while maintaining production quality by planning jobs and monitoring print quality. Additionally, operators will be responsible for maintaining press cleanliness and performing routine maintenance tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate and maintain the press equipment.
- Perform regular maintenance and upkeep of the press.
- Verify proper ink, paper levels, and supplies around the press.
- Assist in register and sheet rule up.
- Familiarize yourself with and adhere to plant processes and standard operating procedures.
Candidates must possess:
- At least 2 years of Second press operator experience.
- Preference given to candidates with experience on KBA 864 UV, Heidelberg 640, 1040, and 1240 models; other makes considered.
- Some perfecting experience required.
- A solid understanding of color principles.
- A strong mechanical aptitude.
- Excellent eye-hand coordination for adjustments inside the unit.
- Ability to utilize computers for product quality assurance.
- Capacity to lift 10-15 pounds continuously, occasionally lift up to 50 pounds, stand for long periods (12-hour shifts), use hands and wrists in controlled movements, follow instructions, and identify defects using vision.
- Flexible work schedule: 36 hours one week, 48 hours the next, with overtime and holidays as needed (OT paid over 40 hours per week).
- Passing a color test is mandatory.
- Effective communication with clients at Press OKs is essential.
