MUST
2 years of pre-op and PACU experience
Preparing patients prior to procedures and post op
Initiating IV s and administering medication
Reviewing paperwork prior to procedures with patients
Reviewing discharge instructions
ACLS / CPR certified
DUTIES :
The duties of the Pre-Op / PACU nurse include but are not limited to the following
Ensure safety of patient prior to procedures and post op
Plan care and perform assessment of patients
Review patient's record prior to procedure (i.e. lab, x-ray, appropriate permits).
Document patient charts including medications and physician orders
Administer IV s / medication to patients
Assess and monitor patients post procedures
Review discharge instructions
Provide assistance to clinical team as needed
