Experience Surgical Scheduler
2 years of Surgical Scheduler experience
Must have strong experience working in a surgical practice
Must have CPT, ICD-10 knowledge and obtaining authorizations for surgical procedures
Must have experience blocking operating room schedules
Must have strong EMR experience
Must have experience handling payment collection for surgeries
Must have strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to review pre-operative paperwork with patients
Strong customer service experience
Experience verifying insurance
Insurance follow up
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to multi-task
DUTIES:
Answers phone in a pleasant manner and deals with physician offices and patients' needs expeditiously. Takes messages and records in message book. Transfers calls to other departments.
Review pre-operative paperwork with patients
Pre-Authorize/Certify surgical procedures with insurance company prior to date of surgery
Verify insurance
Maintains various logs of daily activities including cancelled appointments, add-ons, for monthly tallies needed.
Update patient's records with operative reports
Maintain database of surgeries and notebook of operative reports.
Schedule pre-operative and follow up tests
Verify insurance coverage with third-party payor.
