THE JOB :
The Fieldwork & Operations Manager will serve as the primary lead and connection between clients, client teams, operations, and vendors. While technically being a part of Research Operations, this role interacts with all of the firm's functions and will meet regularly with internal and external parties. The Fieldwork & Operations Manager will support an entire client team, referred to as a "Stack", headed by a Partner or Principal. The role reports directly up to the Director of Fieldwork, but also closely works together with the Director of Vendor Management and the Principal of Research Operations.
THE INDIVIDUAL WE'RE LOOKING FOR HAS :
- Experience with some combination of qualitative, quantitative, pricing, and project management market research processes
- Demonstrated internal and external relationship building
- Strong team management experiences across people, resource, and project components
- Understanding of how research is conducted in the context of different cultural landscapes and market environments and how that informs research design and execution
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Business Unit Manager will independently supervise and / or execute all fieldwork components of our research for the stack they support, including the following responsibilities :
Serve as the lead operations contact for an entire client team stackExhibit full ownership of set accounts and manage or oversee all fieldwork processes, ranging from qual and quant to digitalWork with the accounting and bookkeeping functions to oversee financial information concerning projects, including all pricing, billing, and some AR / APAnalyze business requests to determine how best to create a successful resolution. Build strategic business cases with research leads / owners.Manage all administrative tasks, such as updating internal systems, project trackers, etc.Organize and facilitate effective and collegial client meetings, keeping detailed notes, troubleshooting, and communicating action items for follow-up, including scoping, pricing, and fieldworkContinuously improve the efficiency and clarity of project execution and processes by engaging, communicating and problem solving within team, operations, and other departments and Business Unit Managers, clarifying the scope, timeframe and resources for projects and implementing best practices.Communicate consistently and clearly with all project leads, ensuring clarity about the strategy, requirements, timeline, adjustments, and progress.Maintain external vendor relationships, work with them to develop client proposalsProactively manage risks and competing priorities in a highly fluid and dynamic business environment.Manage multiple complex projects simultaneouslyMeasure impact and quickly revise content / modality to address specific feedback, as neededPlan and implement projects, help define project scope, goals, deliverables; and define tasks and required resources.Serve as leader and prime advocate for projects, assembly, manage, support and direct project team.Manage budget, allocate project resources, create schedule and project timeline, track deliverables and monitor and report on project progress.Follow-up on action items between team meetings and ensure accountability of team members.Maintain Shared File System and other databases with project status and key project information.Interface with all levels of management and ensure alignment throughout the organization.Be a model of superb organization, excellent timeliness and tireless follow up.Guide and mentor Project Managers, supporting the development of core competenciesThis role requires a flexible schedule with the individual at least working until 4PM (ET) Monday-Thursday for the first six months and likely a flexible US schedule after thatTravel for client work, meetings, of conferences, up to 10%This role is continuing to grow parallel to Quadrant's company growth, as well as individual team expansion and project influx. As such, some tasks you may be responsible for in the future are :
Identify and work to expand areas where new technologies or processes can improve the firm's operations including but not limited to new partnerships and technologiesOversee vendor work and log feedback, directly providing feedback to vendors to improve our working relationshipsAssist in the development of this role and team's scopeLead a team of Project Managers supporting the stackProduce documentation systems around team proceduresMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience requiredWorks exceptionally well independently, within a team, or in-between teamsExperience in market research, ideally with experience handling pricing, as well as both quantitative and qualitative fieldwork management.Recent and progressive management experience Proficiency in Google (Docs, Sheets, Slides) and Microsoft (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) suitesHighly organized with a keen attention to detailExcellent time management skillsStrong communication skills, both written and verbalProactive, resourceful, and self-directedCreative and intellectually curiousQuadrant Strategies was founded in 2015.
