Role Description

This is a full-time remote role for an Inpatient-Outpatient Medical Coder. The Inpatient-Outpatient Medical Coder will be responsible for accurately coding medical records for both inpatient and outpatient services using ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT coding systems. Daily tasks include reviewing medical documentation to ensure proper coding for diagnosis and procedures, adhering to coding guidelines and regulations, and collaborating with healthcare providers to clarify coding issues. The role involves working closely with the revenue cycle team to support billing and compliance processes.

Qualifications

• 3 years of Hospital Facility Inpatient coding experience required
• ICD-10 PCS Coding experience required
• AHIMA or AAPC active Coding Certification
• Strong understanding of Medical Terminology
• Must have experience reviewing and coding Inpatient Facility charts from beginning to end
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently
• Experience with electronic health record systems and coding software required
