At Quail Creek Sporting Ranch, the front-of-house director will supervise and coordinate the entire front-of-house team and manage them to a 5-star resort standard. They will ensure our guests receive a warm and hospitable experience whenever they visit the ranch. This position will ensure the highest level of excellence among all high-touch points at both, and soon to be, all three restaurants at our ranch.


We are looking for a person who can collaborate closely with all team members to maintain open lines of communication and foster a supportive atmosphere. Regularly review guest feedback to improve and tailor services to meet evolving expectations continuously. Encourage staff to engage with guests warmly and personably, creating memorable experiences that will encourage repeat visits. Additionally, they must prioritize training and development opportunities for team members to enhance their skills and contribute to the overall success of the establishment. We are looking for a team-focused individual who prioritizes excellent team culture to achieve high levels of success.


Front of House Manager Duties and Responsibilities

  • This position must set the tone for all service staff and maintain a true 5-Star experience focusing on hospitality and service excellence.
  • Hire, train, and oversee FOH staff for the sporting clays pavilion, the hunting lodge, and the flyer lodge.
  • Work directly with all chefs to set and maintain shift schedules and systems.
  • Work with Member Services and Lodging Managers to maintain the highest level of service.
  • Coordinate the dining experience by upholding the highest service standards. Ensure seamless transitions during departmental hand-offs, such as when guests move from activities to dining or lodging. Proactively identify and address potential needs or service gaps before they are brought to the guests' attention, ensuring that even shift changes occur without notice to the guests.
  • Act proactively to anticipate guest needs and implement strategies, processes, and procedures to execute and achieve world-class hospitality.
  • Facilitate quick and efficient communication between the front and back of house.
  • Work with the executive chef to create and update menus and printables.
  • Oversee alcoholic beverage program from permitting to procurement and service.
  • Food and beverage payroll.
  • Cost control measures for front of house.
  • Establishing service culture for front of house.
  • Member and guest name recognition
  • Showing the way instead of pointing the direction.
  • Anticipating needs instead of reacting to requests.
  • Monthly inventories.
  • Oversee front-of-house during private events.
  • Coordinate F&B meetings with chefs and distribute follow-up items.
  • Maintain all front-of-house music playlists.
  • Establish lighting levels by area and train to levels.

  • Requirements:

    • Proven work experience as a Restaurant Manager, Hospitality Manager, or similar.
    • Extensive food and beverage knowledge with the ability to remember and recall ingredients and dishes to inform customers and wait staff.
    • Strong leadership, motivation, and people skills.
    • Degree in Business Administration, hospitality management, or culinary schooling.
    • Sufficient relevant work experience may replace this requirement.
    • Ability and willingness to work long hours, early mornings, and late nights with extreme reliability and consistency.
    • Ability and willingness to perform a variety of tasks, some of which may seem unrelated to position (going above and beyond).
    • A strong drive to achieve and innovate in effective ways.
    • A strong sense of loyalty and teamwork.

  • Compensation and benefits:

    • Competitive salary commensurate with experience.
    • Performance-based bonus opportunities are available after one year of employment.

    Onsite housing is available.

    Job Type: Full-time


    Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year as a combination of salary and bonus plan.
