Maintenance & Facilities Assistant Manager

We’re seeking a skilled and dedicated Maintenance & Facilities Assistant Manager to help lead the upkeep of our beautiful senior living community. You’ll work closely with the Director of Engineering to ensure our buildings, grounds, and vehicles remain safe, attractive, and fully operational for our residents and staff. Key Responsibilities
Maintenance & Operations
Assist in managing a preventative maintenance program for all major systems: HVAC, plumbing, electrical, elevators, fire safety, landscaping, kitchen/laundry equipment, and vehicles.
Oversee vendor relationships and ensure timely maintenance services.
Maintain inventory of tools, parts, and supplies.
Ensure resident work orders are completed efficiently and professionally.
Provide insight on cost-effective repair and maintenance strategies.
Safety & Compliance
Help implement the community’s Safety Program: emergency drills, workplace safety, and disaster planning.
Support compliance with state and federal safety standards, including Cal/OSHA.
Maintain documentation and training records related to safety protocols.
Team Leadership
Assist in hiring, training, and supervising the Maintenance and Housekeeping/Laundry teams.
Support performance evaluations and team development.
Collaborate with the Director of Engineering and management to ensure high operational standards.
Housekeeping Oversight
Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of all common areas and resident laundry services.
Partner with housekeeping leadership to meet and exceed cleanliness expectations.
What You’ll Bring
3 years of hands-on facility maintenance experience (senior living experience a plus).
Skilled in plumbing, electrical, painting, carpentry, and general repairs.
Familiar with maintenance software and basic computer programs (Word, Excel).
Strong customer service, teamwork, and communication skills.
CPR/First Aid and Food Handlers certifications (or ability to obtain).
Clean driving record and valid state driver’s license (CDL preferred).
Ability to lift, bend, and work on your feet — with or without reasonable accommodation.
Willingness to complete background check, drug/TB testing, and physical as required.
