Summary
We are looking for someone who speaks both Spanish and English. The Lead Housekeeper is responsible for the planning, organization, development and direction for the overall operation of the Housekeeping Unit in accordance with and federal, state, and local standards and guidelines. This person will ensure that the highest degree of quality resident care is maintained at all times. This is a housekeeping position as well and the right candidate will be assigned their own area of the community.
Essential Functions

- Directs Housekeeping staff in the fulfillment of unit project assignments within budget, with quality and on schedule.
- Maintains the care and use of supplies, equipment, etc. and the appearance of housekeeping areas, and performs regular inspections of resident areas and rooms for sanitation, order, safety and proper performance of assigned duties.
- Performs regular inspections of resident, ancillary, and common areas for sanitation, order, safety, and comfortable environment. Assures that Housekeeping staff follows established safety regulations in the use of equipment and supplies at all times.
- Inspects storage rooms, utility and janitorial closet, etc., for upkeep and supply control.
- Requisitions all Housekeeping supplies and equipment and maintains adequate inventory levels to provide a clean, safe and comfortable environment.
- Monitors resident moves and responds to resident requests promptly and according to policies.
- Seeks out new methods and principles, and incorporates them into existing Housekeeping practices.
- Performs other job duties and projects as directed.
- Supervisory Responsibility
- This position manages all employees of the department and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within that department.
- Work Environment
This job operates in a senior living facility. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently interacts with residents, family members and other personnel. The employee may be occasionally exposed to illnesses and various medical conditions.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, and work hours may vary. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
