Key Job Duties:
Oversee Operations
- Plan, organize, and direct all housekeeping and laundry activities to maintain a clean and comfortable facility.
- Develop and enforce policies and procedures to guide daily operations.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless services that meet patient needs.
Lead and Support the Team
- Recruit, train, and supervise housekeeping and laundry staff, ensuring high performance and morale.
- Schedule and assign work shifts, monitor attendance, and adjust staffing as needed to maintain efficiency.
- Conduct regular meetings to provide updates, gather feedback, and promote teamwork.
Maintain Safety and Compliance
- Ensure all personnel adhere to safety regulations, infection control protocols, and proper sanitation practices.
- Conduct routine inspections of storage rooms, closets, and work areas to identify and address any issues.
- Keep up with regulatory standards and implement changes as required.
Resource Management
- Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies, equipment, and linens to ensure availability and minimize waste.
- Submit requests for equipment repairs and place orders for necessary supplies.
- Stay within the departmental budget and provide financial reports as needed.
Enhance the Patient Experience
- Ensure all patient rooms, public areas, and workspaces are clean and organized at all times.
- Address patient and family concerns regarding housekeeping or laundry services with empathy and professionalism.
- Maintain patient privacy and dignity by knocking before entering rooms and communicating clearly about service needs.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Experience in a supervisory role within housekeeping or laundry services, preferably in a healthcare setting.
