Job Summary:

The Site Manager ensures optimal performance of the regional site in all its aspects. Manages optimal use of means of operations (personnel, plant, raw and auxiliary materials), to effect that orders are realized on time, at minimal expense while safely, meeting quantitative and qualitative requirements. Responsibility for reproducibility and repeatability of all products in the site. Establishes and maintains the local Safety, Health, Environment and Quality management system and support CSR program. Responsible for all safety within the plant with the goal of Zero LTI’s.

What will you do:

The Site Manager is responsible for the EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) and overall performance and state of the plant on the daily basis. Maintains indirect responsibility for all non-operational areas like Finance, Information Systems, Procurement, Quality Assurance and Human Resources. Implements the general strategies, policies and directives of the Global Operations, EHS and Procurement organization. Ensures that the plant complies with all legal requirements.

  • Responsible for personnel management:
    • Maintaining correct personnel organization and manpower requirements, bearing in mind human and social circumstances
    • Proper schooling and training
    • Creation of optimal working conditions
  • Champion safety and environmental initiatives and directives.
  • Monitor and track relevant Key Performance Indicators including first pass yield, on time deliveries and cost of inadequate quality.
  • Keeping commitment and motivation at high level in order to achieve excellent safety results and that personnel will render maximum performance, both currently as well as in the long run.
  • Responsible for the execution of the order fulfilment process, from receipt of the order until the receipt of the cash, this within all requirements regarding cost, EHS, Quality and market demands.
  • Responsible for visibly maintaining a continuous improvement process on site, involving all associates, in order to increase (cost) effectiveness, customer service or a combination of both.
  • Ensures compliance to SOX, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 (ISO 18001) approval and proper execution of internal and external audits.
  • Executes and monitors the local EHS and Quality programs and policies. Recognizes the different local requirements regarding registration of products. Takes care that the appropriate EHS and Quality documents are created and maintained.
  • Compiles safety instruction and initiates (safety) activities, with the purpose of guaranteeing safety and good working conditions, for personnel and the environment.
  • Responsible for composing the C&V and capital budget and ensures compliance to these budgets once approved.
  • Responsible for the maintenance programs of the site (predictive, preventive and corrective interventions in equipment, installation/utilities and buildings) in order to guarantee the EHS standards, business continuity and cost effectiveness management.
  • Responsible for Developing their direct reports within the organization to maximize to the fullest operational efficiency.
  • Committed to providing the customer 100% satisfaction by meeting or exceeding shipment and delivery expectations.
  • Ensures timely and correct reporting. Work with A&A costing to maintain the standard cost of production items timely.

What do we look for:

Key Education or Certification Required

  • Bachelor's degree in business, chemistry or engineering.
  • Must have successful work experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably related to manufacturing of chemical products or technical knowledge of manufacturing and equipment.

Required Minimum Number of Years of Relevant Experience

  • At least 10 years of experience in a management position or multiple roles.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Position holder thinks internationally and is culturally sensitive.
  • Position holder is fluent in the English language (verbal and writing) and has knowledge of local EHS legislation and regulations. Has adequate knowledge of financials and has the following characteristics: leader, analytical, result oriented, creative, flexible, team player and people manager.
