Rates: $25-$35/HR Depending on Experience
Job Type: Contract to Hire
Qualdoc is seeking full-time, experienced Industrial CNC Machinists to join our team. If you have a passion for precision machining and are looking for a challenging and rewarding position, this may be the shop for you! CNC Machinists will set up and operate manually controlled machines with skilled precision and perform bench work in the fabrication, maintenance, repair, and alteration of machinery, machine parts, tools, and equipment.
\n- Use precision tools, machinery, and equipment such as lathes, manual milling machines, drill presses, hydraulic presses, band saws, and a variety of cutting tools and equipment.
- Fabricate and shape parts such as tools and machine parts out of metal.
- Properly and safely select, align, secure, and remove holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines.
- Recognize, deploy, and properly use inserts, fixtures, and tooling.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints and follow instructions.
- Determine the proper tools required to perform tasks.
- Operate and utilize lifting aids as necessary to perform work.
- Use gauges and precision measuring instruments to meet tolerance requirements.
- Perform regular cleaning and light maintenance tasks on machinery and equipment.
- Track parts and jobs in Travelers.
- Perform all tasks in a safe and responsible manner, maintaining a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Work overtime as needed on evenings and/or weekends.
- Communicate with others to coordinate work in the plant.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Familiarity with the use of: Heavy Industrial Lathes, Grinders, Boring Mills, Planers, and Portable tools.
- Experience with turning, drilling, tapping, boring, honing, polishing, and threading machine processes.
- Large part machining experience preferred (e.g., ship propeller shafting, ship steering gear).
- Forklift and crane experience preferred.

- High school diploma or GED.
- 5 to 10 years of related experience is preferred.
- Ability to effectively communicate and understand job instructions verbally and in writing in English.
- Experience with Fanuc, Mazatrol, Okuma, DMG/Mori, and/or Heidenhain CNC controls.
- Basic understanding of G-Code and M-Code for CNC movement.
- Experience maintaining 0.001" tolerances.
- Basic understanding of G, D, and T.
- Experience in job setup on vertical and horizontal CNC machining centers and CNC turning centers.
- Strong interest in engineering and mechanical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and precision measuring tools.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical computations.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to move or transfer products with an overhead crane.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs. at a time when required.
- Regularly required to stand, walk, reach overhead with hands and arms, stoop, crouch, kneel, climb ladders, and use stairs.
- Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Expected to spend time using a computer.
