Qualdoc is seeking an experienced Electrical Controls Designer for one of our manufacturing clients in Ashland, Va. This employer offers competitive salaries, benefits, and time off. This position will play a key role in the design of both new and existing products. He/she will use Autocad Electrical to design electrical drawings, control systems, and schematics for heavy industrial electro-mechanical equipment.
Starts at $30/hour, depending upon experience.
This role is open for aspiring Electrical Engineering graduates with experience handling control system projects and who have previous internships in a similar area.
\n- Create electrical drawings, controls systems, and schematics for heavy industrial electro-mechanical equipment using Autocad Electrical.
- Design and implement industrial motor control systems.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure designs meet project requirements and industry standards.
- Utilize knowledge of AC and DC motors, as well as Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), to optimize equipment performance.
- Adhere to National Electrical Code (NEC) and Underwriters Laboratories (UL) guidelines in all design activities.
- Provide technical support during the manufacturing process, troubleshooting electrical systems as needed.
- Maintain accurate documentation of design specifications, revisions, and project progress.
- Associates or Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Drafting/Design, CADD, or a similar field
- Minimum of 1 years of experience creating electrical drawings and schematics using Autocad (Recent internship experience can also be accepted)
- Experience with industrial motor control systems
- Experience in manufacturing for electro-mechanical products/ equipment
- Experience with both AC and DC motors and VFD's
- Familiar with NEC and UL guidelines
