Shifts Available: 1st & 2nd Shift
Pay Rate: $25 – $35/hr. (Based on Experience)

Position Overview:
Qualdoc is hiring experienced Manual Machinists to join our team full-time. If you're skilled in precision machining and looking for a challenging, rewarding opportunity, this is the shop for you! In this role, you’ll be responsible for setting up and operating manual machines to produce high-quality components with accuracy and efficiency. You should be proficient in fabrication, repair, and maintenance of machinery and machine parts.
\n- Set up, adjust, and operate a variety of manual machine tools to produce precision parts.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints to ensure accurate machining.
- Machine metal parts to exact specifications.
- Properly and safely set up, align, secure, and remove fixtures, cutting tools, and materials from machines.
- Recognize and correctly use inserts, fixtures, and tooling.
- Select and use the appropriate tools for each task.
- Utilize lifting aids as needed for material handling.
- Use gauges and precision measuring instruments to maintain tight tolerances.
- Perform daily maintenance and cleaning on equipment.
- Ensure workplace safety and cleanliness by following company procedures and regulations.
- Work overtime when necessary, including evenings and weekends.
- Communicate with team members and supervisors to coordinate workflow.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Experience operating Heavy Duty Horizontal Lathes, Milling Machines, Horizontal Boring Mills, Vertical Turning Lathes, Planers, Grinders, Drill Presses, Hydraulic Presses, Band Saws, and Portable Tools.
- Knowledge of turning, drilling, tapping, boring, honing, and polishing.
- Large-part machining experience preferred (e.g., ship propeller shafts, steering gear).
- In-place machining experience is a plus.
- Forklift and overhead crane experience preferred.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 3–10 years of manual machining experience preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with an interest in engineering and machining systems.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Proficiency with precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.).
- Solid math skills, including fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- High school diploma or GED.
- 3 to 10 years of related experience preferred.
- Ability to communicate and understand job instructions verbally and in writing in English.
- Ability to effectively interpret and translate instructions to other employees in a professional and respectful manner.
- Strong interest in engineering and mechanical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Ability to use precision measuring tools.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical computations.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs. as needed.
- Frequent standing, walking, reaching, stooping, kneeling, and climbing ladders.
- Ability to move products using an overhead crane.
- Good vision is required, including close, distance, color, and depth perception.
- Some computer work is required for job tracking and documentation.
- Moderate to high noise levels due to machinery operations.
- Shop environment with safety protocols in place.
