What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Warehouse Operations position at Qualfon?

Responsible for the oversight, leadership, and management of all Warehousing, Fulfillment, Logistics, and personnel functions of the Fulfillment and Distribution Center.

Focus is on operational planning, execution, quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement to meet company Key Performance Objectives (QOS and profitability metrics) and client SLA objectives while interacting with counterparts across the corporation and with the client to ensure opportunities for synergies and efficiency improvement are achieved.

In addition, provides leadership and input from the site location to support business development, cost estimating, client services, and Person Office functions within the business.

Responsibilities include :

Profitability of the site
Warehousing, Shipping, and Receiving operation functions
Order Pick and Pack operation functions
Order Fulfillment operation functions
Pre-Kit Assembly operation functions
Warehouse Inventory Management functions (inventory control, cycle counting, discrepancy resolution, shrink prevention)
Transportation, Logistics, and Parcel Package Shipping Services
Digital Print and Direct Mail production
Operational Quality Management, 6-S, and Lean Six-Sigma Leadership
Capital Equipment Planning and Procurement Requests
Contractor Staffing Agency Management (for site location)
Resource planning, hiring, personnel performance management, and firing
Cost Estimating and Business Proposal Support

Qualifications :

B.S. Degree preferred or equivalent work experience

10-12 years of management experience in a warehouse, distribution, order fulfillment and / or light-manufacturing environment required

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Knowledge, Skills, and Functional Abilities :

Hands-on Manager, Mentor, Messenger

Experience with Order Management & Warehouse Management systems

Strong project management, production launch planning, and execution leadership

Strong interpersonal and team building skills

Strong analytical, problem solving, and logic skills

Operation cost management and estimating skills

Strong HR management skills and methods, including hiring, motivational, compensation, training and development, disciplinary and termination procedures

Supply sourcing, contract negotiation, and supplier management knowledge and skills (Contract Labor, Capital Equipment, and transportation services)

Good business management acumen within the Fulfillment business with specialty knowledge of MRP, Scheduling, Resourced Planning, Bottleneck Management, Shipping Logistics and Methods, Packaging, Mail Services, and Operational Performance Analysis

Communication Skills : Able to converse effectively with customers and employees

Ability to represent the company in client facing situations, conduct facility tours, articulate the inner workings of operational processes and procedures, and give effective presentations in a sales situation during a client visit to operation site

Must possess a high energy level, be able to multitask, and maintain a flexible mind-set while driving the organization to meet deadlines, goals and objectives.
