Metalworking Field Service Specialist

Summary

The role of the Field Service Specialist is to provide professional service and support for QualiChem’s strategic customers and Sales Engineers.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

1. Provide routine or scheduled service visits to strategic customers such as Pratt & Whitney, Ruger and any other customer that the Sales Engineer recognizes as a strategic customer for QualiChem.

2. Service visits will be supported and managed by the local Sale Engineer in the assigned market.

3. Service visits can be:

• Trouble shooting coolant issues
• Taking Samples of systems or machines that need additional testing
• Developing a positive relationship with customers, especially those who are directly using the products
• Managing inventories at large customers that need un-interrupted delivery of product
• Support machine or central system cleanouts when necessary for either new opportunities or current customers
• Provide onsite operator training under the supervision of the QualiChem Sales Engineer
• Provide support to the Sales Engineer during customer business reviews
• Troubleshoot equipment that directly impacts the performance of QualiChem products such as a proportioner, Dosatrons, skimmers, etc.

4. The Field Service Specialist will also provide support for new opportunities whether it is a current customer that we are expanding our product line or a new customer that we have secured a trial.

5. The Field Service Specialist, in coordination with the Sales Engineer, will provide input on developing sales strategies for new opportunities and a service schedule to insure QualiChem has the very best possible chance of closing the business.

Qualifications

• Reside within the territory, preferably the Wichita, KS area
• Ability to travel up to 50%
• Technical aptitude
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong Computer and MS Office skills
• Work responsibly on your own and as part of a team
• Easily develop productive relationships with customers, prospective customers and Sales Engineers
• Accurately understand manufacturing applications and the role metalworking fluids plays in the process
• Ability to handle technical processes, data gathering, data analysis and technical sales processes

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 3 years of machining applications or machining operations experience in the metalworking industry; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no supervisory responsibilities

Travel

This position will require extensive day travel and some overnight, depending on city of residence.
