What are the responsibilities and job description for the Forklift/Equipment Operator position at Qualico Steel Company, INC?
Summary:
This position will be responsible for operating the 36K Taylor forklift, smaller rough terrain forklift and small 10K forklift. Will be required to safely transport and position loads from yard to production or on trailers for shipment to the job site.
Responsibilities:
- Review work assignments to plan and coordinate the movement of product from the yard to the plant and for delivery.
- Perform necessary preventative maintenance on the heavy equipment assigned to employee.
- Perform daily inspection of equipment.
- Report any equipment malfunction or problems to a supervisor.
- Work with crew to ensure proper hitching procedures are followed.
- Communicates with the yard crew using hand signals when lifting, transporting and positioning loads.
- Adhering to safety standards.
Qualifications:
- Must Have at least two years Heavy Equipment Experience.
- Must have a valid Drivers License.
