Manufacturing Associate / Masking - PART-TIME

GENERAL OVERVIEW:

The Masking Department is responsible for covering/concealing off various parts of products which need to be paint free using specified materials. The Manufacturing Associate will assist in preparing products for coating by using materials including but not limited to tape, cardboard, screws and a large variety of plugs.

OBJECTIVES:

• This job requires a high degree of manual dexterity and visual acuity.
• Responsible for understanding and following detailed production documents (i.e. work travelers), masking/de-masking instructions, drawings and specifications, given either verbally or in writing, including English.
• Responsible for the care and process quality of the customer-supplied product.
• Accountable for meeting deadlines, as well as working with other departments to ensure production schedules are met.
• Improves quality and recommends changes as necessary to ensure efficiency.

JOB DUTIES:

• Masking of complex parts and geometries.
• Properly use masking materials to insure coating applications to customer specifications.
• Understand the difference between paint and powder coat and how it relates to masking.
• Safe use and storage of all masking supplies and tools including die-cut masks, calipers and positioning masks.
• Organization and cleanliness of workspace, Masking department, Tool storage and supplies.
• Reading, understanding and proper sign-off of production documents including blueprints.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

• This role requires good listening skills and the ability to effectively communicate concerns to all levels of staff including the supervisor and upper management.
• Basic math and writing skills are also a necessary job requirement.
• High attention to detail.
• Confidently meets multiple demands and problem solves when necessary.
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks.
• Takes ownership of completed work.
• Meets and/or exceeds production deadlines.

PHYSICAL REQUIRMENTS:

The Masker must be able to:

• Able to regularly lift up to 25lbs and occasionally lift up to 50lbs with proper lifting techniques, team lifts or lifting equipment.
• Stand on concrete for extended periods of time from all levels of crouched to upright positions.
• Move about the department and production floor to retrieve tools and supplies necessary to complete production requirements.

A background check, physical, and drug screen are required prior to employment.
