What are the responsibilities and job description for the BOM Analyst position at Qualified Staffing?
BILL OF MATERAILS ANALYST Our client is one of the largest manufacturers of quality custom Interior and Exterior wood doors. Qualified has been engaged to find a intelligent and motivated BOM Analyst (Bills of Materials) that will understand and process all Bills of Materials and correct any errors or discrepancies. This position will assist in daily production errors, scheduling errors, cancellations and other projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
Create, maintain, and validate BOMS, part routings, and mfg change orders.
Process all daily BOM creation requests.
Perform BOM audits and resolve discrepancies as necessary.
Understand departmental policies and procedures for assigning part numbers, deleting / adding items, changing quantities, attributes, and revising drawings.
Verify consistency of material master descriptions and drawing descriptions, in accordance with policy and procedures on processes.
Communicate inconsistencies to the department supervisor, customer service and drawing department.
Research and identify any problems with tags, schedules, paperwork and scanning throughout the day as needed to support production personnel.
Knowledge of product helpful.
QUALIFICATIONS :
Associate degree preferred but not required.
Previous experience ina production / manufacturing environment preferred.
Prior industry or wood working experience / knowledge helpful.
Proficient at Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
Must have advanced math and analytical skills.
Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
Solid organizational skills and high attention to detail.
Must have the ability to effectively handle multiple tight timeline situations and have prioritization skills.
Ability to work with minimal supervision and possess willingness to make decisions.
Can-do attitude; problem solver; trouble-shooter; strong sense of urgency.
Must be able to work a fulltime position, Monday through Thursday, with some flexibility in hours is allowed.
Position may require extended hours or overtime on occasion.
Regular attendance and punctuality is required.
Standing and / or sitting for prolonged periods of time- up to 8 hours or more per day.
Occasionally exposed to shop elements such as noise, dust and odors.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.
Repetitive motions performed working on a computer, photocopiers, fax machines and filing.
Regularly required to talk or hear.
Frequently use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
Work area may have fluorescent lighting and air conditioning.
