What are the responsibilities and job description for the Laboratory Manager position at Qualified Staffing?
Job Purpose : Support customer satisfaction by providing product formulation (color and additives) and samples while exceeding turnaround and on-time delivery expectations. Support company by continuously improving 1st time quality and reducing nonconformance. Ensure products achieve gross margin and gross profit targets while maintaining a safe and positive work environment in a manner consistent with the mission, principles, and values. Key Responsibilities : Safety
Develops a safety culture that prevents accidents and meets all safety targets
Ensures safety audits and safety training is completed in a timely manner
Ensures all employees are following all safety requirements
Staff Development / Training
Develops annual goals, completes performance reviews, and other managerial tasks in a timely manner
Develops staff to ensure we meet our goals and provides best opportunities for personal growth
Documents employee performance issues and implements disciplinary actions
Participates in managerial tasks and projects
Development and quality workflow
Allocates resources to complete development and quality tasks (color-matching, samples, and QC checks) in a timely manner
Coordinates customer information (including costing, PDL’s, regulatory documents), and arranges for displays and samples.
Provides regular updates and informs sales and management of delays
Quality assurance
Maintains ISO and other site certifications
Resolves site-related customer cases and audits and audit findings. Develops corrective and preventive actions and verifies resolutions.
Develops methods to continuously improve 1st time on-quality and reduce non-conformance at site
Maintains all equipment in laboratory in good working order and in-calibration
Budget control
Manges-budget by controlling overtime, supplies, and outside services
Core Competencies :
Very good communicator – verbal and written reports
Understanding of polymer processing & colorant technologies
Understanding of quality assurance tools including root cause analysis, QMS, and ISO standards
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
5 years’ experience in related field
Has supervised employees for minimum of 2 years in quality or analytical laboratory environment
