What are the responsibilities and job description for the Process Engineer position at Qualified Staffing?
Summary : Our client is a leading plastics extrusion company that utilizes the latest materials and techniques to develop custom solutions to their clients in various industries. They are looking to add a Process Engineer to their team. In this role this person would be responsible for the improvement of processes through use of Six Sigma principles, Lean methodologies and 5S workplace organization. The goal for someone in this role would be to eliminate waste, reduce defects and improve the overall efficiency of the company’s process. Responsibilities :
- Lead and manage full life cycle process improvement projects
- Analyze the existing processes to identify inefficiencies and develop solutions
- Collect new and use existing data to identify specific jobs with high scrap rates or low overall efficiency.
- Conduct root cause analysis to identify the primary cause or causes of inefficiencies.
- Conduct meetings on a regular basis with employees
- Implement corrective actions, involving team members from all shifts, to facilitate the implementation of process improvement projects.
- Make use of various statistical methods and software to measure the effectiveness of process improvement efforts.
- Conduct training with employees to facilitate the implementation of 5S and Lean practices.
- Create SOPs for processes to ensure consistency
- Work with the cross functional teams to begin the project in the most efficient manner.
- Exhibit positive, supportive behavior in all interactions with co-workers, supervisors, managers, and customers
- Ensure compliance with State and Federal safety regulations.
- Provide support to other cross functional teams for their corrective actions or continuous improvement efforts.
