Job Summary :
Responsible for shipping and receiving functions, inventory control, record keeping, as well as moving / delivering supplies, materials and equipment between departments.
Duties & Essential Job Functions :
- Receives incoming shipments and compare items to work orders provided by supervisor.
- Counts items to ensure that the correct number have been received.
- Assists in physically moving incoming items to designated storage areas and supervise storage activities.
- Looks through work orders to determine order picking activities and pick orders according to the specific instructions provided.
- Operates a forklift to transport pallets and other large items, load and unload trucks.
- Determines the quality and quantity of picked items and ensures they are safely delivered to the delivery pallet.
- Assists in loading and unloading and determining safe ways of stacking / retrieving items in the truck.
- Ensures that all incoming and outgoing shipments are properly labeled and that correlating documents are available with each shipment.
- Compares the amount and identification numbers of goods against orders.
- Maintains accurate shipping record files.
- Works outside between buildings in all weather conditions.
- Performs daily safety inspections on forklifts and other moving equipment.
Other duties as assigned.
