Aerospace Welding (AWI)

AWI is an FAA certified repair station that has become the world's largest repair station for piston and turboprop aircraft exhausts and engine mounts. AWI was founded in 1993 and has shown a strong growth track record over the past 28 years, primarily due to is Quality and Workmanship. AWI has over 400 FAA / PMA approvals which allows us to offer both new replacement exhaust as well as repair and overhaul services.

Quality Aircraft Accessories (QAA)

Quality Aircraft Accessories (QAA) overhauls and distributes piston engine and limited airframe accessories from its locations in Tulsa, OK and Ft. Lauderdale, FL to a worldwide customer base of over 25,000 pilots and mechanics. As a Hartzell Engine Technologies (HET) company, we provide complete life cycle support for the full line of HET products including turbocharging systems, aircraft alternators, starters, fuel pumps and cabin heating solutions.

Fort Lauderdale Facility

QAA and AWI will be establishing a joint Hartzell repair station in Fort Lauderdale and needs a franchise player with strong Fabrication and Welding skills to support this initiative to help build out our capabilities and site. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills and be quality minded to ensure that the facility is meeting customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities

AWI seeks a Production welder with responsibilities for the following :

1) Fabricate and weld customer parts and assemblies as requested that pass the inspection process

2) Offer process improvement initiatives

3) Complete all necessary documentation for proper tracking of work

4) Maintain a clean and safe work area

5) Cross training on QAA products will be required

6) Support in establishing the AWI repair station in Ft. Lauderdale

Requirements

Required Education and Experience

HS Diploma or GED required; successful completion of accredited welding course or equivalent on the job training; TIG welding

Required Technical Competencies

1) Mechanical Aptitude - demonstrated examples (on the job or outside of work) showing competency to work with hands.

2) Ability to utilize the following equipment

a. TIG welding machines, belt sanders, hand-held sanders and grinders, power saws and various hand tools.

b. Demonstrated TIG welding experience on thin gauge material

3) Demonstrated ability to utilize inspection tools such as measuring tapes, radial / digital calipers, height gauges, etc.

4) Experience with Process Standards - Demonstrated ability to read, understand and execute to written instruction.

5) Basic math skills - ability to perform basic mathematical calculations in fractions and decimals

6) Ability to read and interpret basic blue prints.
