Job Summary:
We are seeking caring and dependable Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to assist individuals with mental and intellectual disabilities. In this role, you will provide essential support to help clients achieve their personal goals and maintain their independence in a safe and nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks
- Provide emotional support and encouragement to clients in achieving their personal goals
- Implement positive behavior strategies and coping techniques
- Facilitate client engagement in community activities and social events
- Monitor and document client progress, behaviors, and care needs
- Ensure the safety and well-being of clients at all times
- Collaborate with care teams to develop and follow individualized support plans
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED (required)
- Experience working with individuals with mental or intellectual disabilities (preferred)
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (preferred)
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a care team
- Successful completion of background checks and drug screening
- Previous experience as a direct support professional
Preferred Skills:
- Understanding of positive behavior support techniques
- Experience in caregiving, social services, or healthcare settings
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
