Quality Biological, Inc. (QBI) is a manufacturing biotechnology company committed to delivering innovative, high-quality products for the life science industry. We manufacture media, buffers, supplements and reagents for cell culture and molecular biology applications.
Position Summary
We are looking for a talented individual to join our Production team. The candidate will be responsible for assisting with the production of all cell cultures, bacteriological and molecular biology grade media, buffers, salts, and other solutions and agars produced by QBI. The responsibilities outlined below are critical for the successful manufacture of QBI products and contribute directly to the efficiency of operations, achieving customer satisfaction, and to the success of QBI in achieving its revenue and profit goals.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Maintain weekly inventory of disposable items using the manual inventory sheet. Disposable items include such things as masks, head covers, booties, gloves, etc.
- Prepare reorder requests for approval by the Production Manager.
- Maintain raw material inventory of bottling supplies, including bottles, caps, and cubitainers.
- Prepare, clean, and/or sterilize bottles, caps, and other containers and/or equipment used in manufacturing products.
- Prepare filter housing and filling bells for sterilization.
- Clean and detoxify containers, lines, and pump heads.
- Fill, label, and seal filled containers.
- Place finished products into storage crates and/or boxes as appropriate.
- Prepare final count of finished products.
- Complete Product History Records.
- Check product labels for accuracy.
- Maintain a clean work environment
- Know and comply with all company policies and procedures.
- Document and maintain all production equipment, refrigerators, freezers, and storage locations according to standard operating procedures.
Requirements and Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Mathematical skills – ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and
- Interpersonal skills – ability to communicate clearly with peers and department
- Organizational skills – ability to meet deadlines and work under
- Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram or schedule
- Critical thinking skills – ability to identify critical issues, suggest and request appropriate
- Ability to provide input and advice to the information gathering process and to carry out directives in a cooperative and supportive
