What are the responsibilities and job description for the Disaster Restoration Manager position at Quality Building Services (QBS)?

The position requires the following, non-negotiable characteristics :

Essential Functions :

Ability to report and attend to emergencies in any and all sites.

Must have experience with responding to and attending different emergencies on the field, i.e. flood, snowstorm, fire, leaks, etc.

Master Designation is a plus.

Manage routine inspections and preventative maintenance on assigned equipment.

Manage Water / Mold / Fire building and contents restoration work residential and commercial properties.

Manage setting up containment, decontaminating, monitoring remediation equipment.

Ability to perform and manage water damage and fire cleaning tasks.

Ability to exhibit a high attention to detail ensuring the highest quality of workmanship throughout restoration projects.

Follow established safety rules and regulations.

Ability to provide company management with timely and accurate information related to the progress and status of projects.

Able to document progress of projects.

Possess knowledge dealing with COIs and insurance.

Ability to deal with insurance adjusters and manage estimations.

Ability to maintain upkeep of equipment, replenish inventory when necessary.

Ability to operate larger delivery vans.

Participate and conduct training with crew when necessary.

Ability to lift, carry, push, pull 50lbs, climb ladders, work at ceiling heights, aerial lift.

Willingness to participate in all training as needed or required.

Energetic, with the ability to take initiative, successfully handle and prioritize multiple competing assignments and effectively manage deadlines.

Able to work independently and be self-directed, but also take direction from all levels of managers.

Ability to effectively and efficiently prioritize and multi-task

Organizational skills are a priority.

Prior experience working in a facilities / security services industry preferred. (Minimum 5 year)

o CDS – Commercial Drying Specialist

o WRT – Water Damage Restoration Technician

o FSRT – Fire and Smoke Damage Restoration Technician

o AMRT- Applied Microbial Remediation Technician

o ASD- Applied Structural Drying

o MRS – Mold Remediation Specialist

o BMI – Building Moisture Inspection

o TCST – Trauma and Crime Scene Technician

Availability

QBS maintains operations 24 / 7 / 365 and is an “essential business” in the New York area. We work during normal times as well as when other businesses may be closed down. The position requires flexibility and an ability to work whatever schedule and hours are deemed necessary to efficiently accomplish the work and service our clients, which may include working extended hours, weekends, holidays, and / or during emergency situations, such as natural disasters (storms, including but not limited to rain, wind, snow and ice, floods, power outages, fires, earthquakes, etc.), public health emergencies such as the COVID-19 pandemic, government-declared states of emergency, labor strikes, and force majeure events. Accessibility to answer questions by email or phone during off hours in accordance with QBS’ policies is expected. The ability to work this schedule is an essential function of the job.
