Description
DESCRIPTION :
The Database Architect III is a senior level position responsible for data modeling and data conversion.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Prepare data models from the conceptual, to logical, to implementable stages using modeling tools and techniques such as SysML
- Lead the installation of database and knowledge management systems, or customizations to systems, "owning" the data aspects of each project undertaken
- Design, implement, and maintain robust and scalable database architectures for ITSM applications, including ServiceNow, Cherwell, or other similar platforms
- Develop and enforce database design standards, best practices, and naming conventions
- Collaborate with application developers and system administrators to ensure database designs meet business requirements and performance goals
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of database architectures and configurations
- Perform ongoing database administration tasks, including performance monitoring, tuning, backup and recovery, security management, and capacity planning
- Proactively identify and resolve database performance bottlenecks and issues
- Implement and maintain database security measures to protect sensitive data
- Ensure database systems are highly available and meet disaster recovery requirements
- Integrate ITSM applications with other critical systems and data sources
- Provide expert-level support for ITSM database systems, including troubleshooting, issue resolution, and performance optimization
- Work closely with the ITSM team to understand their data needs and provide solutions to support their operations
- Evaluate and recommend new database technologies and tools to improve efficiency, performance, and scalability
- Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in database management and ITSM
- Take direction from the Data Center Operations Team Lead
- Mentor and direct subordinate Data Center Operations Team staff
